Zagorski vodovod Ltd. is today the largest public water service provider in the Krapina-Zagorje County, owned by 26 local government units (LGUs), and is engaged in public water supply and public drainage, operating in the Krapina-Zagorje County and Jakovlje municipality in Zagreb County where it supplies water for approximately 90.000 inhabitants through
more than 31.000 connections.

The public water supply system of Zagorski vodovod Ltd. includes 6 springs, 65 reservoirs and 99 hydrophore and pumping plants. The total distribution network of the public water supply is over 2.200 km.

The public drainage system of Zagorski vodovod Ltd. also includes 5 wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and 6 pumping stations (PS). The total distribution network of public sewerage is over 260 km.

Zagorski vodovod Ltd. has registered the activity of public drainage, began preparations for the takeover of the existing drainage systems in the Krapina-Zagorje County and initiated activities that would provide a complete solution of the drainage system for the Krapina-Zagorje County in 2006. Accordingly, in 2009 the project of preparation of the drainage system was contracted through Hrvatske vode, and a solution with 3 WWTPs and connecting pipelines that will be compatible with the already existing drainage system was selected. During 2011, the preparation of a feasibility study and design of documentation for the construction of the Zabok agglomeration and the Zlatar agglomeration was contracted, as well as preparation for the application and co-financing of the project with EU funds.

During 2014, Zagorski vodovod Ltd. took over public sewerage activities from the companies Komunalno Zabok Ltd. and Zelenjak Ltd. Klanjec. In the period from 2014 to 2016, the transfer of communal water structures of public drainage was carried out free of charge into the ownership of Zagorski vodovod Ltd. from the towns of Zabok, Donja Stubica, Klanjec and Zlatar and the municipalities of Krapinske Toplice, Veliko Trgovišće, Zlatar Bistrica, Gornja Stubica, Konjščina and Mače. Zagorski vodovod Ltd. currently maintains about 260 km of public drainage network, 6 pumping stations and 5 WWTPs (Kumrovec, Krapinske Toplice, Jurjevec, Dol Klanječki and a herbal purifier treatment plant Belečka Selnica).

With the organizational structure of the business system of Zagorski vodovod from 2014, the Drainage Department was formed, which is divided into the Service for maintenance of the drainage system and the Service for wastewater treatment and PS.

During 2014 and 2015, documentation was prepared on the basis of which water permits were obtained for public drainage in the area of the Zabok and Zlatar agglomerations, which together with water permits for Krapinske Toplice, Kumrovec, Belečka Selnica and Dol Klanječki, form the legal framework for performing activities of public drainage in the entire area covered by Zagorski vodovod Ltd.
