Press conference in Zlatar Bistrica
Zlatar Bistrica, 31 January 2022 – Director of Zagorski vodovod, Mr. Mario Mihovilić, Head of the Unified Administrative Department of the Municipality of Zlatar Bistrica, Ms. Marija Horvat, representative of the contractor STRABAG AG, Mr. Emir Varnica and Deputy General Manager of Hrvatske vode, Mr. Davor Vukmirić, in Zlatar Bistrica, at 13:00, right next to the construction site, held a press conference on the occasion of the opening of the construction of the access road to the wastewater treatment plant Zlatar Bistrica, within the agglomeration Zlatar. Execution of works began in Krapinska Street near the Zagorje betoni ltd.
The press conference was attended by representatives of Project investors, Zagorski vodovod d.o.o., Mayor of Zlatar, Ms. Jasenka Auguštan-Pentek, Mayor of Zabok, Mr. Ivan Hanžek, representatives of contractors, representatives of supervision, project manager and media representatives.
Mr. Mihovilić emphasized that a building permit for the access road has been obtained, and a building permit for the construction of the device itself is being obtained. The value of the investment is around HRK 58 million. The contractor is STRABAG d.o.o. “The importance of this project has been mentioned several times and it is certainly one of the most important development projects in this area in the last 10 years which will significantly improve the quality of groundwater and surface water, and thus the quality of life of residents. The agglomeration is designed so that wastewater from the municipalities of Marija Bistrica, Konjščina, Zlatar Bistrica and Lobor, and the city of Zlatar, is collected at a treatment plant in Zlatar Bistrica, which will solve the problem of wastewater for these urban units. In the coming years, an attempt will be made to resolve the issue of wastewater in rural parts of the agglomeration, “said Mr. Mihovilić.
Ms. Marija Horvat, Head of the Unified Administrative Department of Zlatar Bistrica, emphasized that we are all aware of the positive impact, not only on the municipality of Zlatar Bistrica, but also on the surrounding municipalities and the city of Zlatar.
The director of Zagorski vodovod d.o.o., as well as Ms. Marija Horvat, emphasized the importance of this project to improve water utility infrastructure, not only to improve the utility system and better utility services for residents, but also to preserve the natural wealth of this area – primarily the Krapina River and its tributaries.
Mr. Emir Varnica, representative of the contractor STRABAG AG, reminded of the facts about the contract for the construction of two wastewater treatment plants, signed in January last year, and expressed satisfaction with the dynamics of obtaining building permits and works to be completed by March 2024 . years. He especially emphasized the satisfaction with the cooperation with all stakeholders of the Project.
Deputy Director General of Hrvatske vode Davor Vukmirić praised this project, which has entered a serious phase of construction, and pointed out that Hrvatske vode reached three and a half billion turnover in European projects last year.
